Comment on A Simplistic Criticism of the Fair Tax by Charles R

That\'s an interesting question, tkprop. I don\'t think it\'s fair, given that the current system has a history to it of constant changes and additions and deletions and such, such that it\'s confusion and byzantine nature results from that long history. So, of course one wouldn\'t get a crazy system with one session of Congress.

You know, I still haven\'t seen in the law where it defines specifically what counts as a business and what constitutes a business-to-business transaction. I\'ll look harder.

If we had the FairTax in place for the last 95 years and someone in congress proposed changing to our present system in it\'s present form how would people react? Stoning is illegal so your guess is as good as mine.

You know, I first came here so long ago that I don\'t remember how I first got here-- it would make sense that I got here from one blog linked here. It seems like I came here before I went to McGinty\'s site, though, and enjoyed the philosophy and criminal justice aspects of your site. I have long periods of time when I can\'t play around online, then brief periods when I can, so I\'m selective in what I read. Thanks for the entertainment.

I appreciate the comments, again.

Fancy accents can be done with using the ALT key with some combination of numbers. If you use Windows, they\'re available on the Character Map in Accessories->System Tools.

Also, if it\'s not too personal, I\'m curious how you came here. Was it through Johnathan\'s website or some other?

I know that your patrol coincides a great deal with ACCPD\'s-- I\'m glad to have you anywhere we can get you. I\'d be happier to have you with wider jurisdiction, but I\'ll take what I can get. And I bet it\'s hard to keep a mind like yours in a position that is anywhere below the Chief\'s, so I\'m sure you have difficulty in a line of work that entails chain of command in which \"superiors\" may well be intellectually inferior in some ways. I am absolutely amazed to read what you\'ve written here, observe your intellectual capacity, and guess you\'re not an asisstant chief.

As far as the \"cliche\" (I can\'t do the fancy accent mark)-- it\'s a cliche because it\'s true, right? I think that makes it an adage.

I work for the University Police Department, and in all honesty it\'s evident they want me to leave, but I appreciate the sentiment and praise nonetheless. Both UGPD and ACCPD have great people working for them, so it\'s not a great loss for me to leave the one and the other has no need for me.

Any strength that we have in persevering comes from one another in Jesus. Cliché, I know, but finding the beautiful in suffering seems, to us, to be the challenge and call of the Gospel message for us.
